The Florida Legends Baseball Club begins its inaugural season in 2007. The Legends do not begin without experience in summer baseball or the Game.
Every Legends Coach has coached in Summer baseball. Carlos Marti was the Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach for the Florida Bombers from 1999 – 2006. Assistant Coach John Hayduk coached for the Florida Bombers from 2003 – 2006. Angel Herrera served as the Recruiting Coordinator for the Florida Bombers in 2005 and 2006, and served as an Assistant Coach in 2004.
Aside from the coaches, the Legends Baseball Club has baseball experience in its Directors and Officers. The Chairman of the Board and Owner is Rick Torcise. The President and General Manager is David R. Elder. Mr. Torcise was the former owner of the Florida Bombers for seven (7) years and Mr. Elder served as its former General Manager for six (6) years.

The mission of the Legends is, in part, to provide a forum for quality ball players to showcase their skills against national competition. Tournaments that are anticipated include:
• The Perfect Game Wood Bat National Championship in Atlanta, GA;
• The Connie Mack State Championship in Central Florida.
• The Connie Mack Regional Championship in Tennessee or Georgia;
• The Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, New Mexico;
• The Connie Mack Qualifying Tournament in Troy, New York (The qualifying tournament is an alternative route to the Connie Mack World Series. A team can either win its regional or win one of the two national qualifying tournaments.)
While showcasing players talents is the primary mission in the early months of the summer, it is the Legend’s hope that the complete mission will include a Connie Mack World Series Championship in Farmington, New Mexico, and the shared emotion of elation among teammates that goes with a job well done.
The experience of Farmington is unequaled in summer baseball in the eighteen and under division. Farmington’s presentation of police escorts, barbecues, host families, and six thousand fans at games is an experience that The Legends wish to provide to as many players and families as possible. |
